It was just an ordinary day. Filled with doing ordinary things. But that was not what this day had in mind. This day had a mind of its own. This day did not want to be ordinary. This day wanted to be extra-ordinary. This day had an idea.

I have been a writer all my life. Words have always fascinated me. I began journaling faithfully at the age of 12. Because I loved using the gift of words to create my world with a perspective all my own. As my writing emerged into other realms, I realized I could create other worlds outside of myself and I dabbled in it with a temporary fascination and joy. But my true love is drawing others into my world simply by writing in my own perspective. Which has been both a blessing and a curse through all the years of my life.
Prior to this day, I had attempted many times to follow my dream of not only being a person who writes, but of actually claiming the title and becoming a writer. In varying degrees I had achieved momentary success in this quest, but nothing that was sustainable long enough for me to consider myself accomplished.
On this particular day, I was finishing an Easter creation for my local paper. I was pleased with how it turned out and the thought of it being more than just a newspaper spread floated effortlessly through my head. I could see the image of it in book form. And that's when the bubble finally burst. The decision was made. I was no longer dreaming of becoming a writer. I was now walking the path. On this day, I claimed the title. Even if I never sell a single book, today I am a writer. First and foremost, for me. But finally, I am a writer also for anyone out there who is driven by my words, or just curious enough to explore with me.
My sweet husband has always been the wind beneath my wings. Many times offering his love, support, faith, and skills in assisting me to reach for and attain my dream. With one little burst of excitement from my lips, he went full force and together we created the idea of Purely Publication in less than 24 hours. So here we are. Laugh at me, or smile with me. The choice is yours.
